HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, USA!

Today we present a celebration in miniature! Here are some very rare images of a few of the wonderful scale models created for Walt Disney's "America on Parade" conducted at Disneyland and Walt Disney World during the 1975-76 US bicentennial anniversary.
Disneyland "America On Parade" Scale Model
A giant mobile turkey for America's first Thanksgiving! Each model was hand-made by Disneyland artist/designer Clare Graham and a team of artists from the Park's Entertainment Department. Constructed from a variety of materials (colored felt, paper, wood, wire, illustration board, etc) these models were used as guides in the building of the final full-sized parade floats.

Consisting of fifty units and 150 performers, "America on Parade" is by far the most elaborate parade ever staged at the Disney parks.
